Rehearsal Schedule
Details of our next rehearsal including music choice and location
Our next rehearsal is on Thursday 28th May in Lauder Public Hall.
UPDATE – Margaret’s message
Please come prepared to sing anything and everything on Thursday – we will work through all the pieces and corners that need attention the most.
We’ll be starting with these pieces that I think need the most attention on Thursday, in the following order:
A Gaelic Blessing, (John Rutter)
Kyrie (Byrd)
Come Again verses 2 and 3 (Dowland)
Fancie & Greensleeves
Hallelujah Chorus
Follow the Heron, Opening section
Please please please make use of the learning tracks to help you with any pieces or parts that you feel less comfortable with. Remember the main goal of singing in a community choir is to enjoy yourselves and I really truly believe you get the most out of singing together when you feel confident and happy in your own line.
If we get through the pieces above, then we will be able to focus on getting everything really polished and sparkling!

Links to Fancie videos
I have uploaded some short (and unlisted) videos for Fancie, as promised, to help with the learning for sopranos and altos. There is one for each short section:
Part one is short and runs through the first section up to replie, replie.
Part Two is longer, about eight minutes and works through the tricky middle section, explaining how the harmonies there work, playing the piano chords and singing slowly. Hopefully it will help you hear where the phrases are going, and you can listen, stop, rewind and sing along.
Part Three is short and explains how to break down the final section of Ding Dong Bells, to make it easier to memorize/keep track of.
Please make time to watch/listen to these, sopranos and altos.

The dress code for the concert will be greens and blues, so anything from within that colour palette – floral prints, block colours, satins, cottons, linens, dresses, trousers, suits, jumpsuits all acceptable as long as they’re broadly in that colour spectrum. (Avoid black in favour of navy where possible.)
